Come on baby light my fire…Music is supposed to inspire.
If you know me then you also know that is women is one of my biggest influences. Aside from the mishaps and controversies I won’t ever forget how the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill has groomed me in my womanhood. The album was dropped in 1998 when I was the tender age of 4 years old.
I knew the classics from Doo-Wop to Everything is Everything from my moms chore day collection but I didn’t fully grasp the power of this album until I was in middle school. After revisiting the album for a school assignment, I knew that I needed to sit and digest the masterpiece in it’s entirety. I could sit here and tell all about what this album’s done for me but instead I simply want to share a moment of gratitude for a work that has uplifted my faith and chronicled the relate able hardships and triumphs of the black women.
My Favorites:
